The fall of the year is one of my favorite times....
Here below you will find a poem I wrote for the occasion..
Love and peace, Maggie ((~.~))

Autumn In My Heart

I walk on a crisp multicolored carpet
through October's forest
as poplars, maples and friends
shed coats of kalaidoscopic wonders.

I watch fluttering foliage
sail midair on gentle breezes;
like angels shedding feathers
spiraling  in acrobatic motion.

A lover's gentle kiss,
caress my face in passing
then cradles the barren ground
awaiting winter's blanket of white.

Some land atop babbling streams
for an easy ride to a place of rest
as the autumn sun warms
the end of their journey.

I gaze in awe,
study detailed artistry,
and revere the artist.

I just now returned from a most glorious walk around a picturesque pond in the middle of an arboreal forest with its leaves all ablaze in autumn colours. Your poem is the first one that I read and it fit my mood perfectly!

A poetic autumnal treat, to be sure!

Oh, how pretty!  We don't get the pretty colors here, or the gentle fluttering down.  But it's so nice to read about it.
