Still Alive Just

I’ve sat at my window
Just staring at the stars above
Wondering what heaven is like
I’ve tried to enter 3 times now
Yet 3 times been brought back to life
I guess heaven does not want me yet

I feel pain like a lot of people do
But my pain came from a loved one
Smile to others yet he hated me with a passion
Just used me as a punch bag, a vent for his temper
He would bruise me yet it never showed
He made me say he was the best dad in the world
If I refused then I knew what was coming

I was afraid of him then as I am now 37 years on
As in my dreams he comes
Like freddy krugger he haunts my heart and soul
Many nights I wished to kill myself
To end the hurting I still feel to this day
He’s dead now but from his grave he still comes
I tried to rid this virus to erase my mind of him
Yet I can’t he’s still here with me awake or sleeping
So I do wonder what heaven is like
Or what heaven has in store for me when I do arrive

I know Heaven has a wonderful home for you, far into the future. I am not so sure about your Dad. Joyce
