Pines are most impressive
not framing day
Their strong slenderness
is best
accentuated by the night...
Illuminated by the moon.
You will find them
in the darkness
most profitable..

Though fanned by tipsy breezes ~
Furled by gales...
Have no notion they will break
For goodness sake
Remember..
They are pines
born to stand.

In a way..
they barricade the day,
and that is good
But, ever bear in mind
their kind.
Stalwart sentinels..
It is right
that they should be
protectors of the night.

Oh, Nancy Lee, this is exquisite!  I have to agree with you.  We had pines lining our long driveway when I was growing up.  They have grown up, too....and, oh, how beautiful they are in the moonlight!   I really miss them.   .....jo

Tinker this speaks to me.  There is nothing like the fresh scent of the pines.  Let's find a pine forest to walk in...

believe in what your heart feels...

I just LOVE this ...

'Tipsy breezes' cause the dance
among the pines in fragrant prance
Traipse on forested needles pathway
brings me to the gorgeous meadow on display~

Beautiful picture and writing.  On the shores of Monterey Bay, the Monterey Pine tries to withstand the winds.  As you can see from some of the pix in this site, they don't make it, but the result is also awesome.  Pines are a great tree, as are your writings.  Hugs Ken http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&q=monterey%20pine&sa=N&tab=wi
