My poems would be most likely
Held up in academic circles,
Waved above student heads
In creative writing classes-
Exampled as too flowery;

The hall abuzz with Pound reverberations-
His successor gripping my paper
In a clenched fist, choking
The life from it, throwing
It to the ground,
Foot on its neck,
Making it say uncle...

But I do not write for Ezra, or for them...
I word with hope that anyone can read,
My aim is everyone can understand.

The bullseye of my target being clarity;
Arrow words with shafts that pierce-
I send, to hearts of common women-men,

To rise in their visions, pictures
Of love or ire, or myriads
Daily seen as in-betweens;
Connecting the twain, yes-
Agreed, by little used phrasing-
But always anchor-stayed
By roots sent deep
Into an earthbound plane.

Or perhaps my common words
Might make come reappear
Some image wrought, and lost
Their form and fire smelting
Hardened ores, in mines
Of long forgotten dreams.

Clear enough that all may understand,
Not just egocentric teachers
Shouting rants, to snobby groups
Of budding poets, turned elitist

Oh, exactly!  I hope my work, nor yours,
is ever taken into a classroom
to be bullied by them that believe
it doesn't stand up to some crowned Master...

rather, if it is indeed taken into
a classroom...

it will be to light anew, a fire
within a mind, and soul,

and you, or I, will stand there...
and say...

If we can write down
our dreams,
you can, too...

Yes, Yes, Yes...

Libraried, with spotlights!!!

smiling wide--a friend of mine, as a test, once deliberately plagiarized Ginsberg at another site.

Not only was it not recognized, the snobs there tore it to pieces and called it "drivel".

I have had some choice critiques m'self, Ford.

The best one I'd have to e mail to you tho.

It doesn't pass guidelines.

You know I loved this.
