you keep me at such a distance

but my mind has longer arms

and hands with fingers

that would know the depths of you

even beyond those places

you have touched before
I look at your eyes often

and wonder of your mouth

when it says please

and when you bite your lip

and say yes like that
and I wonder how you look

when you are at the window

waiting for the ocean

to touch the glass

with a whisper

so you can write love words

in the memory of a vapor
