Under the stars upon the wind

0 posted 2005-10-13 05:10 AM

Black mirrored waters silently caress the shores broken sands.
Gleaming rocks lay damp amongst twisted cypress limbs.
Monotone mearsures of music penetrate the disorientating fog.
The hummers padded footsteps reverberate throughout the aging night.
Lifeless strands of spanish moss grasp at the ground.
The wandering nomad weaves through blackness's entanglements.
The distinct scent of magnolia offers an errie version of southern comfort.
Far too close, the howling of dogs spurns the figure to quicken its pace.
The celestial beacons guide the way, sparatically calling from behind whispy clouds.
Purposeful yells randomly demand responses from all around.
The crisp chill of water and disguised splashing encircle his ankles.
The anger of business and profit follow him up the rivers tiring rapids.
Beyond the willow's curtains the glimmer of something more.
What was once a song of perserverence has changed to whispered gasps for chilled air.
Moisture clinging to every surface the traveler winds his way further north.
Freedom hidden behind every dark tree trunk and the stalking of oppression in the shadows of every dream.

Freedom is not Free (Korean War memorial)

Excellent, gave me the chills while reading, held my attention all the way through, loved the descriptions, suggesting visuals in my mind.

You may call yourself "Voiceless", but your pen speaks volumes! My goodness! Where on God's Green Earth have you been! Shame on you for denying your fellow Pipsters of such fine poetry!

Vividly descriptive and spell-binding!

Love & Light,
