Listening to every heart

From outside these
western windows,
watch with me
this huge old
maple tree's crown
as it curls and gilds,
as its leaves turn inward
upon themselves.

Fall is set,
maple leaves will tumble,
colored effervescent
with climax,

but the squirrel that treks
across my roof
will continue to
jump and cling
onto that one limber branch
that leads him home.

Winter’s song
has just begun.

"There's a reason they call God The Creator - he sides with talent." Julia Cameron

This is beautiful, Karilea. Aside from spring, fall is my favorite time of the year. Seeing all the leasves turn colors. I have squirrels on top of my house, too.

The fall of Fall begets a rake
Upon which I can lean.
No time to cook or even bake
It's time again to clean.
With ev'ry pile I can make
The volume seems so mean
Dear friend, I beg, my rake don't take
Til no leaf can be seen.

Aside from a certain oak tree, it is a lovely season.  Ken

Through rubble and trouble and dark of night
The yawn of a dawn will hasten the light

this makes me cry tears of joy...Kari...not only the poem, but the comment from your child...there is nothing in this world worth more, then being allowed to continue life with your children, respect for one another, so much so, your able to let each other be who they are, you guide each other, and bless one another,...God bless you both...I'm proud of you...both...you did good Kari, you did proper by them all and by us...your a lady, a true woman of great insight and love...

hugs and thank you for sharing this...
