The Cows Can't Moo
~ Linda L. Dowd ~

To wit or to woo?
~What should I do?
The turkeys can't gobble,
And the cows can’t moo.

Oh, fiddle dee dee,
The owls can’t see.
The dog’s in the birdhouse,
And the duck’s in a tree.

Oh, fiddle-dee-sticks,
The hen’s laying bricks.
The goose is now gobbling,
Six baby mice chicks!

The horses go “baa”,
The chickens go “maa”.
The crows are now oinking,
And the piglets "caw caw".

Well, didgeridoo,
The horses go “coo”.
The kittens are neighing,
And the donkeys go “mew”.

To wit or to woo?
~What should I do?
The turkeys can't gobble,
And the cows can’t moo.

I just HAVE to share with you ... we have been on the patio singing our little hearts out ... Delaney has *giggled* each time~

Then, as I prepared today's luncheon special (you see, each day a special QUEEN comes to prepare lunch) ... so today it just happened to be 'Queen LINDA' ... we made crowns and Delaney got to be Queeen Linda ... !!!!
Little Landry is our resident ~Princess~ and we all had a great time eating QueenARoni today !!!

Hope you enjoy knowing you gave us all a great celebration to brighten our day~

'Almost' nappie-noo time for two little played out members of royalty~
So ... night-night, Queen Linda !!

Suthern ~

Well, I'll be danged! I just read your reply to my rather dreary poem, "His Living Rope" and how it helped lift your spirits, and thought to myself what Ruth really needs is a poem that could appeal to her sense of humour! ~ and voila! It's as if you read my mind!

Sending you a super duper hug! ~ and a smile,

I thought a bit of levity and cheerfulness should be the order of the day! There certainly has been a lot of heaviness and sadness going on lately.

Sleep well this night!

Back with a footnote

'The Cows Can't Moo' went to pre-school this morning with Delaney !!!!
They are "studying" FARM ANIMALS this week ... PERFECT SHARE is your poem~

Delaney 'almost' has most of it 'rememberized' , so she will ask Ms Thomas to read it to the class~

I'd love to be a ~Poet Spider~ on the classroom wall for that one~

Did you ever think that this little cutesy penning
would just make everyone start grinning ?

It did !

I'll give you a report after Delaney gets back home this afternoon~

Earth Angel, I did not need any of my 13 grandchildren nor my three great grands,to help me enjoy this one. As an old time children's book and poetry lover, this hit the spot. Got the smiles going great force. You can bet it was printed out and set aside for little visitors to enjoy .. You need to write a children's book of verse..I'll buy.. martyjo

And Marge, I wish I was one of your little grandie girlies..

Marvellous Marge, Delightful Delaney, and Lovely Landry ~

My, goodness gracious! That was a wonderful "footnote"!

I am so impressed that Delaney has nearly memorized the poem! I haven't even memorized it and I'm the one who wrote it!

Knowing that the poem is to be read to the class, puts a smile on my face ~ and hopefully will put smiles on their precious faces as well!

I thank you all for the joy that your responses to my poem has given to me.

God bless the three of you!

OkayQueenLinda~
You were a United Methodist Church Pre-School HIT !!!

It was the perfect rainy day replacement for time on the soaking wet playground~
(Ms. Thomas sent home a BIG THANK YOU !!!)

And little Miss Delaney says, "Tell Queen Linda that I said, "REMEMBERIZED" !"
With that little scrunched up face she makes when trying to make her point~

LOL ... she and Landry have been playing on a computer keyboard most of the day, "pretending" to send email~
It's adorable to see them and listen to the little girlie chatter going on~

I thank you for this adorable poem, sweet EarthyOne~

I am so happy to hear that Delaney's school friends enjoyed my poem. It certainly does add to my own joy of writing poems for children! They are the 'bestest' of audiences!

Love and hugs and everything nice,

P.S. Delaney, I am soooo impressed that you "rememberized" the whole poem! Here is a little present for you! Present
