tie a scarf on that beautiful head
and head into the chill wind

for it's not the end
of the world as you know it,
even though it may seem to be
blowing apart day-by-day
and all you had was nearly washed away

YOU
are the original
survivalist

I've read your words
~FELT them~
sometimes laughing,
sometimes crying

but
always, always
~FEELING~

YOU

reeling us in with your heartbeat and imagery
US, amiable fish searching for your unique bait

each day we await your return

we will be swimming around
these blue waters
in anticipation

A scarf,
a muffler,
some knitted mitts...
whatever will keep her warm...

and then multiply
with love.

Karilea and Chris

I know you will be here, as will I, to lend her whatever emotional support we can.

I'm swimming around awaiting Karen's return, too.  She is so missed -- Karen, did you hear that, you are, you know!!!

Thank you, Kacy, for putting to words what I haven't been able to.   ....jo

Midnitesun this poem is beautiful in it's imagery, even more so in it's purpose. I "Felt" it.

Yup for Karen and you I have the perfect neck tie! It is an honor to participate with such wonderful ladies.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

This is wonderful and most of all, true. She is an incredibly strong, talented woman and soon she shall return with glory.

Hey Karen, see how many eager fishies you have lined up for a Serenity school session?

oh my...with tears in my eyes and a smile on my face, I must confide one of the dumber things I said during my adventure.

In a really bad mood one afternoon, I said, with all seriousness,

"If one more person calls me a strong woman, I'm gonna punch their [expletive] teeth down their throat!"

Sheesh

I was so serious too.

Gawd I love ya lady, and gawd I love this place.

I wanna come home!

thank you

So Kacy, you might keep them in the glass for now!

thank God I am too far away to receive that punch! LOL, Karen, I do understand that feeling though.
We just miss you, my dear, but are so thankful you are still walking this earth.

Kacy, Good write, and Serenity.. Fully understood.  Too often we who are told,  "You are so strong" are just acting a part... But it is the only way I know to survive...so it works. welcome home, martyjo

I came back to thank you properly, lovie.

It occurred to me someone who didn't know our ways might consider my reply disrespect, but you, do know better.

Love you lady, and smile, just before I read this poem, I told a friend of ours my roof was not covered with a blue tarp, but a silver lining.

You are soooooooooo in tune....

thanks again sistah mine
