I have drunk the wine of autumn
Bit by bit in crimson drips
Orange hues and auburn shades
And brilliant crimson on my lips

Heavy eyes are folded over
With the color-fest of fall
As I slumber into winter
Dreaming wonders of it all

Bright collages sunken into
Snoozing deepness of the night
All these sweet mosaic murals
To dissolve in fields of white

Cold winds claim the brilliant splendors
Of each color as it wilts
So I sleep on painted hillsides
Wrapped in brightly spattered quilts

Do not wake a sleeping dreamer
Do not open blissful eyes
Do not cast the autumn leaves
Into the cold November skies

Time has left its mark of passing
Like a silent mourning dove
Let me linger here within the
season that I'm dreaming of

I love Falls' lingering beauty in this area of the country...

I could see it through your words~~

whoa, Liz Santos, this was extremly magnificant writing...and I believe, my most cherished of yours...how do you do it?

this....

Bright collages sunken into
Snoozing deepness of the night
All these sweet mosaic murals
To dissolve in fields of white

ahhh, can visulize every word so brilliantly placed...

and this....

Cold winds claim the brilliant splendors
Of each color as it wilts
So I sleep on painted hillsides
Wrapped in brightly spattered quilts

yes, you do, there are so many many quilts you have made warm and they love you dear lady...including me....

the inspiration of this first read of mine this morn, has truly touched my heart...
thank you for this marvelous painting....I'm sending this one to Trudy, she will love it.

This needs to go back to the top, for everyone to enjoy....

Hugs and love
