Beneath the Cedars
~ Linda L. Dowd ~

Beneath entwined old cedar trees,
~By side of rushing river,
He held me in his loving arms,
And brought me to a quiver.

Sunlight danced on waters clear,
Fresh air did treat my nose.
With each tender, loving word,
My joyful spirit rose.

Our hearts beat in unison,
Each breath we took as one.
Lying beneath the cedars,
In shade of shining sun.

We picnicked in our secret place,
~ a secluded Shangri-la,
Away from all the madding crowds,
To this wondrous world of awe.
In awe of nature’s sweet surround,
~In awe of one another,
Thankful for this beautiful day,
And thankful for each other.

To the songs of birds we listened,
To the sound of falls we sighed.
To the scent of wild flowers,
~We were lost in sweet abide.

The view went on forever,
From top of waterfalls.
Far from the hustle-bustle,
~Far from the city walls.

Beneath entwined old cedar trees,
~By side of rushing river,
He held me in his loving arms,
And brought me to a quiver.

Marge ~

Oh, indeed I was splased with inspire! Alan and I spent the most glorious day EXACTLY as I have written. I emailed it to him this morning and he was totally delighted with it!

After our sojourn in Shangri-la, he took me to a delightful English tea house. Then off we went to a farm to buy apples fresh off the tree. Today I am juicing some of them!

Thanks for dropping by and leaving such a nice reply!

Sending a big warm hug to both you and your darling Bill!

Froggy Friend ~

He is the most phenominal man I have ever known ~ or even met! ~ and I respect and admire him beyond measure and on all levels.

We started out as friends, five years ago and soon grew to be best friends which grew into a total love. There is nothing like being in love with your best friend and having it returned. Love based on a deep and abiding friendship is the most satisfying and gratifying. We are like two peas in a pod! We even have the same birthday! Mind you, he's 6 years younger. lol

yv ~

Hi, there! Hope life is being good to you! The stage that I am living now is absolutely one of the the best that I have ever experienced. Of course there are still the storms and tempests to endure and those yet to weather, but they are all part and parcel of being a human in an Earthly existence. However, with growth and lessons learned, comes wisdom and a better understanding and appreciation of one's self. That in turn fills us with Light and that Light attracts Light!

Shine on, yv!

Lee, we lay in a hollow at the base of two entwined cedars. The "female" was gracefully leaning towards the river and the larger "male" was behind her leaning in protectively. They even had entwined roots that looked as though he was holding her hand in his. Romantic beyond words!

To love, loving, and being loved!

Howdy, stranger! A sigh from a poetess who writes such sighable poems herself, is most assuredly a sigh worthy of some note! lol
