It Was A Day Of HefaLumps

~*Marge Tindal*~

It was a day of hefalumps
carved exquisitely
It was a day for a parade
of beautiful critters to see~

It was the time of memories
carved from wood of tree
It was a day of hefalumps
for all the world to see~

It was a day … oh what a day
that the master carved from a stump
It was a day of joy in sight
It was a day of hefalumps~

One by one … then two by two
they all came to be
Perfect little specimens
on parade so majestically~

It was a day of hefalumps
I hope you will agree
The carver brought them all to life
to share with you and me~

~*~

~My Bill does such beautiful carving work,
all he touches turns into something of joy~
Of course … we’re running out of room,
so the next Arts Festival will showcase his talent for sale …
and if they don’t sell …that’s okay, he just thinks he’ll build more shelves !

Marge/sis...they are indeed wonderful to behold...and so expressive.  I love the name one of your grandgirls uses, I'm sure.  Much nicer than plain old "elephant"!  Tell Bill I really like his work!

Dear Marge, it is touching to see how you two artists co-create such beauty.

My compliments to both!

Just beautiful!

Wishing you full success with your next exposition.

His carvings and your poetry make a wonderful marriage.

Where I used to live the library would put work like his on display.  Also the nursing home my mother-in-law was in, had a display case where they'd feature works like this for sale. Seems a shame to keep them on a shelf, if they can be shared.

Thanks for sharing them with us.

Dear Marge:  You must be a Winnie-The-Pooh fan too! The carvings are just wonderful! It would be hard to pick a favorite! Your poem is really clever.
