I grew up in this beautifully historic town of DeLand, Florida~
This 'old' courthouse holds many memories for me~
It was built during the years of 1927-1929 and it would be many, many years
before I would come to know the beauty of it's halls~
All things change ... but memories remain~

Dear Marge

Thank you so much for sharing your memories with us all here in PiP!  What a glorious courthouse!  Does that clock chime on the hour and half hour?

Love Isobel xo

My goodness ... seems time slipped right away from me, as in my busy-of-time I forgot to come back to this one~
Thank you ALL for the sweet replies~

Margherita ... that is LOVELY~

The old courthouse in my hometown is undergoing renovations ... and the clock that strikes the hour and the quarter hour will be set in motion again really soon~

NOW ... the neatest *footnote* to this little jewel ~~~

My friend, Sylvia Cashion Saul, who is the leader of the Florida East Coast Division of the Women in the Arts ... sent THIS poem to the constituents in Tallahasse and in Washington ... can you believe ... they are SO ENTHRALLED with their view of the courthouse when they visited here just a few weeks ago that they are thinking of putting a NATIONAL MUSEUM for Women in the Arts HERE ?????

Sylvia told me just last evening ... I'm sooooo happy, I could CHIME

I'm giving this one a boost ... just because it has all come to fruition~
The City of DeLand has given the go-ahead to the project ... and we are ecstatic over the news~

When completed, this will be the ONLY OTHER National Museum for Women in the Arts outside of the original one in Washington, DC~
