I Stayed

I stayed within a winter’s cold
Raging at the force of hold
Pacing up and down the floor
Until I could withstand no more

I rubbed together sticks desire
Lit myself a raging fire
Warmed my hands to hold a pen
And set myself to work again

And there within the tick and tock
I rhymed my pen the sound of clock
And with my pen besides my nose
I built a world of presuppose

To wit the words did warm the breeze
To melt the white of storm and freeze
To lay this wood upon the fire
To warm the brood of my desire

I packed swag in which to soar
And filled a bag of metaphor

Perfect, absolutely perfect rhyme and rhythm Sy.
Now how about you warm yourself with a hot cup of Chai tea?

You and your pen are always a treat, dear Seymour!

You do fulfill each other's desire!

... and the reader enjoys the gift.

Thank you.

Love and hugs.
