Into the raised chair she eases for night.
Tired is the day, now, turn out the light.
Give her refreshment, she has worked very hard.
I love this old woman, though she is no bard.

She doesn’t much like reading words that I write,
She says she can’t get it, sheer waste of time.
But she would not tell me she can’t understand
Why I am me and why she’s my friend.

Though we are quite different in ways we express,
My Mother and I, both put to the test.
Her inhales and exhales, I hope they are blessed.
Tonight may she find tender, pillow’s caress.

Goodnite, Mom.

I wonderful tribute to lady so grand
Many more days may shall remain at hand
To wake in the morning and continue her care
To always be feisty yet always to be there

Life moves through so many phases and none of us understand them whether we are going through them or someone else is

Time moves for all of us and for some a glory, others a passion, some a relaxation

Time has emotion

Lovely words and lovely feelings

Care to both of you

Mother and daughter's love is so intense, in full acceptance of the differences.

This is so beautiful and caring and makes me long for my Mom who is in heaven ... and my daughter who is far away ...

Love and hugs.

The mother-daughter chemistry
Is quite complex as you can see.
Sometimes it's good and sometimes worse.
You've told yours well with joyfilled verse.

It does sound like you and Mom do well together.  Great story.  Ken

Jo,

I think our mother is proud of our writing and understands a lot more than she lets on!  By handing out praise sparingly, I think we both work harder to find and cultivate our own skills and talents.  I think she's kinda like Grandpa in that--she knows the reward of independent thinking, and wants us to have the glory of our thinking, not her own.   She's such a marvelous woman.  I could only hope to be a fourth of such a giving woman.   YOur poem makes me want to cry.  Truly inspired!   I am so proud of you for putting down in words what I could never say.

             love you,
                little sis

I love this, it's so sweet. I feel the same way toward my mother, we don't always get along, but I love her just the same!

Great poem.

Mom.

Three letters, and there's so much complexity of emotion evoked there.

Well done jo jo, and hey? It's good to see you--and I'd love to hear from you too--call anytime.

This is such a simple and sweet poem, but the love is overwhelmingly evident.
