My car

Jostling looking buying
A market place one morning
A monday morning tired and haggard
And my car was lost amongst the awnings and the haggling

Alas no car - had they built a market around my prized possession
Had a thief broke my security to transport my car into heaven
In vain I sought the police
Awaiting outside a door
Until in error I opened it and amidst abuse closed it
But a lady at the office
With a tongue of velvet
Identified my car
Had moved from a policeman's helmet
And though I had been told
That my car had never been seen
It was tracked to a back garden
In Brussels
And transposed
Like a dream

And on payment of a sum
My car became my own
And move from a back garden
That the police had never owned
Nor seen

Notes for those interested

My car disappeared after I parked in a square that became a market on a Monday morning, the police denied ever seeing it or moving it or knowing where it was,in the outskirts of Brussels.

A lovely lady in the Company I was working for, did the sweetness and it was tracked down to someone's back garden some miles away.

I paid the guy the haulage fee and penalty, once he managed to get out of the bar at about 10.00 am.

The police apparently didn't know that it ever existed but the payment was faxed to them.
