What mischeif might the day reveal's been done again at night?
What evidence has been concealed completely from our sight,
that all about, it would appear, were nothing gone amiss,
yet, still we sense anothers' hand has taken part in this?

What spells were cast that, as we slept, would cause us not to see?
What incantations whispered in such close proximity
that, even as our sleeping forms lay senseless in our beds,
contrives to hide their presence as they get inside our heads?

I used to think them phantoms, the mere residue of dreams.
The product of a tired mind, imagining it seems
all sorts of foolish nonsense in the middle of the night,
but, lately, I suspect there's more to this than at first sight.

It now appears what's spoken in the night may haunt my days.
I see things that I once did not,in subtlely different ways.
Where answers still lay hidden, but, the questions I have found
serve well to keep me guessing as to those who come around.

Perhaps the stuff of madness, where the mind is playing games,
but, I sense that what they whisper holds some meaning all the same.

I know what you mean, Doc....I have visitations too. I enjoy them!!
