A Child's Grace

~ Linda L. Dowd ~

Each day I sit
me down to eat,
My dairy, grains,
fruits, veggies, meat.

Food is my friend
and not my foe,
I’m fit and strong
from head to toe.

I eat what’s good
to make me grow,
I brim with health
from head to toe.

For God's blessings
and all this food,
I give my thanks
and gratitude.

Nancy ~

My God-ness gracious! I am totally thrilled that the grandchildren of two of my favourite poetesses will be receiving this prayer of thankfulness.

Blessings of love and Light to each and every one of you!

Lida
It would not hurt if adults would also say this grace...perhaps it would urge us to eat better and be thankful for the nourishment...

A lovely poem, as are yours always.

OhSweetEarthyOne~
Rest assured that two little grandie girlies will be learning this one !!!!

Delaney will LOVE it ... and she will make sure Landry learns to love it too~
(You should hear Delaney already giving little 'lectures' on healthy eating !)
LOL ... we *giggle* ... as sometimes we have to remind her to take her own advice~

Thank you, darling poetess ... for this piece of beauty~

Marge ~

I feel so blessed to have my words saved for your grandie girlies. As you know, Delaney and Landry have become very special to me and I am enjoying watching them grow up through the photos and poems that you post. It pleases me to no end that in some small way, I can be a part of their growing up!

Oh yes dear Linda, this beautiful gratitude prayer will be recited in many homes I am sure. And let's express the hope that all the children of the world will soon be able to give grace for enough food to enjoy health and growing up!

There is such infinite tenderness in children saying grace at the table!

Thank you, for this moment of harmony.
...
Oh and of course I save it too ... for Simon!

Love and hugs.

Hi, lily jo! Your replies are always like a shot of B12 ~ the energy boost, not the needle part! lol

That was a highly complimentary ~and deeply gratifying~ response. Thanks jo! Your support and belief in my writing is always  appreciated!

I am so relieved that you, your family, your pets and your home have survived the wrath of Rita!

Oh, yes, indeed! May all the children of the world, never feel the pain of hunger!

Watching my own children praying before they went to sleep at night, and saying grace before they ate their meals, were always moments of "infinite tenderness".

I am honoured that you are saving this poem for your grandson, Simon. Please give him a hug and a kiss from EA and keep some for yourself!

Hugs with love,
Linda

Smartest Chick ~

Do you want to hear a little secret? I didn't really write this poem by myself! The angels helped me!

I tried to write a poem this morning and nothing was coming. I looked out the window and up at the sky and asked the angels to help me write something that would be very meaningful. I turned back to my computer and my fingers flew across the keyboard ~ and voila! A poem that is being saved in different parts of the world and being shared with children! How wonderful is that?!? ~ VERY!
