The moon shines on cobblestones
Mute rock gardens and slate gray roofs

Through a window from a radio
The sound of strings being strummed

Crickets chirp  Throughout the night
From a distance the lone bird’s song

Orion crossing the eastern sky
She walks in silence
Under stars

Beautiful!

Even at the sound of modern radios ... the stars can create the atmosphere and make you feel the presence of antique spirits ...

How absolutely lovely.  Your poem made me feel the peace of the night.

Water on stone moon on water
Shimmering with the winds touch

Ghetto beats die behind motors
And the silence hasn’t a chance

Rats scurry no need to hurry
The cats too small to challenge them

The great bear stomps the sky
She cries in silence
All alone
