Love today the bread of life
in standard height and measure
cut so to please the ill at ease
and satisfy desire.

Pass the spread, harmonic spread,
but I am left to grieve
the feeble hands of womanhood
that miss a forward pass.

Still wanting and in need;
do you ask that I believe
even backward passes
move forward on a breeze?

Pass, pass; listen how she pleads
but no one spreads from corners in
the way she learnt to do
and her coat of many colours
begets a plate of crumbs.

Down the line to the ground;
how frenzied is the feed
of the wild and common
on fragments of the whole!

What fine phrasing you find.  Well done.  KJ

The yawn of a dawn will hasten the light

This is so sad.  Unfortunately, I think this kind of runs true for many, many women.  It is hard being a woman sometimes...but there is a "Rose Room"....I saw it in a dream and there is plenty of bread there.   .....jo

Yes, Jo - I like your dream of a Rose Room and now we just have to make dreams come true ... that's the hard part.

When bread is what we miss, we stand in despair ... and still so many do not even get near the crumbs.

Thank you for shaking our consciousness with this very touching, beautiful write.

Love,
Margherita
