Blue #27

Stuck in a perfect moment of blue
snuck into the inner realms of you
and all that I've learned these past five years
is the summation of all my fears
of loving you

Finding familiar laugh lines in the night
spreading across your face under moonlight
and all the bridges I've burned were leading to you
this was the reaction to the way my heart flew
clumsily to you

So I'm scared of this already
so I've fared no better in a previous life
if your glass heart falls because my hands are unsteady
then I don't know what to say to you
but I've learned how to charm you with a lie
it's easier to assure you my feelings were always true
always for you I'd sit and sigh
ah, but..

The Philidelphia autumn looms largely
crushing me 'neath it's heel, so I'm marginally
okay to stay with you tonight
this is my reatreat into the soft light
a breath away from you

But it's just not convenient for me right now
it's just not enough to say and mean it right now
I'm talking about losing myself in you
stuck in a moment of perfect blue
of loving you

So I'm aware of this already
so beware of skeletons in my closet
graveyards in my eyes, heart stumbling, not ready
for a truth quite like you
but I've learned how to arm myself with a smile
it's easier to be sure of me before I am of you
anyway, for you I'd like to take a while
and uncover a little beauty inside me
that you can trust

You'll find me
stuck in a perfect moment of blue
sneaking into the inside of you
and all I've done over the years
is the outcome of my tears
from wanting love

You'll find me
between the dawn
and the skeletons in my closet
wanting love
wanting your love

This poem is really good.. It's very touching... I found the above to catch my eye..it reminded me of one of my own memories.
