I watched the words fall
slow motion

you heard me, and I laughed
knowing

y o u hate the fight?

but you threw me in---
right were I didn't want to be

in the middle
of you and I

in the middle of my soul

a g a i n

I may be have lost my step fighting
for this love

but you?

lost your heart

and only God knows why
I even bother

even when the steps are heavy
you walk, head high
with grace of soul
and strength, so deep
and find the treasured moments

you keep,
held in your heart
with eloquent sigh...

and you continue on
as days go by..
