Lake of Zurich - Rapperswil

***

By the lake

Water splashes
against the stone
I am sitting on.
Thoughts float
in golden patches
on the lake’s surface.
Words of all times
gather around my
immersed feet.
Every tiny drop
thrown into the air
holds fragments
of your beloved voice.
Memories cross
my mind
and my heart
dances to this tune
echoing from afar.
The sky smiles
at its own reflection
on the glimmering water.
I dive
into this embrace,
suspended between
above and below.
Surrounded by
the sound of
your divine voice,
I share your breath
and life flows
in silent harmony.
The sun bows
to this sacred moment
of love
and the lake glows,
as if competing
with my soul,
in sweet surrender.

Love, Margherita

Such a beautiful piece...
Love your use of imagery...and the pic is perfect.
Hugs~Nancy

I wait now at the lake or walking by the bay
I wait and listen or put a seashell
to my ear and it all comes back
the wind's soft murmur..and you.

I read you sometimes and just sigh.....how lovely.....

Thank you all my dear poet friends for reading and commenting so lovingly.

Dear Lee, the water surrounding my hometown (it's a Halb-Insel ... half-island) is indeed a powerful constant in my mind. You say it: I am drawn to it. And it is very often present also in my dreams ...

Love,
Margherita

And I've surrendered to a beautiful scene and gracious words.  Notice how the water ripples and know that words do the same.
