Fortune Teller
By Paul Wilson

Fortune’s told the sign said
gypsy lady sees all
She knows what lies ahead
look in her crystal ball

I stopped and went inside
not knowing what I’d find
My fear I tried to hide
as visions filled my mind

A voice said come… sit down
how may I help you dear
Nervously I looked around
trying to hide my fear

I want my fortune read
please tell me what’s in store
I keep dreaming I’m dead
these signs I can’t ignore

Relax and close your eyes
feel your pain slip away
It’s now time too arise
your new life starts today

I look around and see
I’m in a different place
Gypsy lady next too me
now dressed in white lace

I ask her where are we
she softly takes my hand
From your dreams you are free
you’re in God’s holy land

I was the Angel sent
too take away your pain
No reason to lament
forever here you’ll remain

I wait now at the lake or walking by the bay
I wait and listen or put a seashell
to my ear and it all comes back
the wind's soft murmur..and you.

Susan...I guess so. I don't know how this poem developed, I just started writing and let it take me where it wanted too.
Thanks for reading and for your reply...Paul

Marge... I think I'll leave my future up in the air. My curiosity will just have too be satisfied without knowing. If it was meant for me too know then it will all be revealed to me another way.

Thanks for reading and for the reply...Paul

Martie...Thanks for caring. I learned growing up in hurricane country when too leave and when too stay and there was no way I was hanging around for Katrina.
I'm just glad my 3 children got out, they all live South of New Orleans. My daughter was wanting too stay but she did the right thing and left. Two of them lost their homes and the other one had minor damage.

Glad too hear from you and thanks for reading and your caring reply...Paul

Paul, I enjoyed reading your poem and the
way that you turned it around there at the
end. I'm so glad to hear that you are okay.
Yep, there's another of those boogers going
to be out stirring up our Gulf, ian't it?
My thoughts and prayers are with everyone
who might be affected.
Heart Hugs to you and yours,
Ethel

Ethel...Thanks for taking time too read and reply.

It looks like Rita might not bother us here in South Louisiana, but then I pray that she doesn't bother anyone.

Take Care and be safe...Paul
