I cannot fight a silent enemy
For it has clipped my feathered wings
And I’m a bird who cannot fly, but only sings

I do not dream just any dream
But only of the loftiest of stars
And soar far, far beyond the radiance of Mars

I will not die just any death
And knowing moments to be few
I do not live as other sparrows do

Perhaps you're really a swan, my friend.  The lovely swan spends most of her time sitting and looking absolutely gorgeous upon the water - oftentimes tending her fledgling flock.  When she decides to take flight, however - She's a sight to behold.  Her wingspan is about 6 feet across and her grace is unsurpassed.  She doesn't live like a sparrow either...

Listen to our Nanners lady - you are indeed a beautiful to be looked at, so slow down, enjoy the view, and don't make me come down there and sit on you to rest.

We are all getting older and I too (yes Mz. Energy even) is slowing down, and I don't fight it.  Naps are turning out to be a very good thing.     Love you m'friend.

No, because you are not a sparrow, or just any anything.  You, my friend, are very special!  And you fly with ease, wherever you please!

You certainly do not...your a rare find, who graces and blesses all who are lucky enough to know you...
your a breath of fresh air...elegant, talented, artistic...yes my dear, when God created you, he had special plans...there is no other woman on the face of this earth as beautiful as you are...

Hugs & many thanks for your articulative embraces.

This is very beautifully written. I really liked the emotion in this poem.

Poetry is beauty in words.

Liz ... hi!  This is such a lovely poem.  You know, I just couldn't help but think that it is perfectly written for women suffering from breast cancer.  This is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and your poem is an inspiration.

I am also made to think of our dear White Dove.   ... jo

Clipped wings or not, your songs are beautiful, the words fly high, have strength enough and  grace to knock down any door, on any cage that might entrap you...Your spirit soars in your poems, although at times it might feel resistance on the walls of the time tunnel...

enjoyed this poem
