Louisiana

twas not the glitter,
from the city of Naw’leans
that made this a great city
in the beautiful state of Louisiana
but the heritage from South Pass
to Monroe,
to Shreveport,
to Lake Charles
as with all of Southeast

as one travels:
thru the bayou
down the bayou
around the bayou
over the bayou
not east nor west
it just doesn’t exist
along with north nor south

a great heritage of people
that binds together,
completing the backbone
continuing to strive
they call it re-build
for the people
that lost everything,

everything,
but who they are
realizing
it’s not a re-build
but a continuation of themselves’
to take what is only their own
doing whatever it takes
however long it takes
for the power of an Louisianan
is a much better strength
as it gets harder and harder
to conquer the tasks at hand.

to re-store the life’s of many
for re-gain,
that which is their’s
life to exist with freedom
choice’s for themselves
to make the decision’s

for the great has been there
and is still
the
Louisianan
