Austin City Limits

As I sit here listening to Jackson Browne.
I wonder if anyone will notice the memories
Flooding through the outer door of my mind?
A mind that is protected with a door made of solid Steel-
A door laced with unbreakable locks that have no Key.
Listening to his words-
Questions come to mind.
Shall I write them down for they need to be expressed?
Will anyone understand this feeling I portray in Colors-
Of melancholy black,  depressed blue, bleeding red And shades of swirling gray?
You touched my troubled heart so many years ago-
Your warmth washed over me with quiet understanding
Leaving me with a soothing calm of tranquility.
You captured my hand and took me down a new path of life-
A path that was filled with laughter and untold Mysteries.
Your talented hands drawing me pictures in the Radiant colors of the sun-
Your gift enticing the fragrance of the Magnolia
Which entered my nostrils sending me into the Valley of dreams and wild fantasy.
Your music entered my heart and opened my eyes-
Leaving me breathless with anticipation and filling Me with the knowledge
Of what life could be.
One day, a road I did not wish to travel came into View-
A road that curved down a path of tears
Leaving questions trembling upon my quivering lips.
Questions as old as time-
Questions that many have asked.
Does love ever die or does it float upon the wind?
Drifting on dampened mists, curling around broken Hearts that are
Now guarded with wires of tempered realities.
As night enters my mind in a sleepy fog.
I rest my thoughts, which rise up in demanding
Force, and fall into
The land of dreams, replenishing my tired soul.
Another night will come and I will watch Austin City Limits.
Will thoughts invade my mind once again?
Needing to be heard-
Needing to be understood
Asking....... Does anyone hear me?
Asking....... Does anyone understand?

You have baked an egos pie
Let it lie, let it lie
Let it cool a cool of sigh
Let it lie, let it lie.
