Listening to every heart

That kind of moment, when something
Sends a shivering shadow and some ex-life
Is recalled, even if
Not willingly by you...

But you flow...in that blink,
Releasing
The Big Sigh...

~*~

Had it Worked Out

Special moments are memories
Gift wrapped by the Magi’s
Hands alone

Even when paper is next-
Morning tattered, and satin ribbons
Lay in tangle of thought

Special moments can still
Make you have faith
In magic

Was is so many years ago
And that young ago
For a couple sans income

Worried about Christmas,
What to gift
Each other

She, new to the Midwest ~
He thinks her pine eyes
Would sparkle on State Street

They board a day train
To Chicago proper ~
She makes windowpane wishes

On casement dressings and
Santerrific scenes
Wrapped in silken sighs

CA bred, frozen crepe
Whipped and chilled
By Chicago winds

Thin legs exposed
To crystal shard winds
But heart happy

As her one wish
For snow on State street came,
Kissing her eyelashes.

Had it worked out
It would have remained
A Magi story to tell.

~*~

A second sigh...
A look at hands long worn,
And worn,
Still ~ youth remains,
Somewhere tightly bound,
A cocoon where a butterfly
Beckons release;

Which may only come
At death.

Wonderful write Karilea.
Brought back my own shivers of
'had it worked out'.

And that butterfly in the cocoon..?
She's already flying!

Hugging you tight.

Something tugs at me, I've no doubt of that.
Something from the sea, whichever one I'm near.
When I stray too far from beachland, it calls me back

This sounds like a story I've been in a couple of times and years ago.

Had a shiver today, myself, SIL.  I felt so much reading this...but I have to disagree about that butterfly...at least I can hope you're wrong, huh?   Love the rendering.   .....jo
