Like the warm wind in a spring time Mohave
I feel your thoughts on me
Your medic bag slung heavy upon your shoulder
You rush to my side like rain in Sedona

You put your ear to the rushing of my heart
As the sky falls within me
Though I know that time leaks faster
Still you bend to my relief

I am not without portent or guile
When your fingers are on my pulse
I weave with threads a jacket made of gold
and still the singing winds in you are cold

The air is clean with release of thought
Within the breath of me no longer caught
And I would edge the spreading tree of leaf
To know you feel my arms fast opening cleave

A real as life, romantic poem, dear Martie...

A string of emotions beaded with longing and memories...as lovely as it is sad..

I once heard someone refer to you as "a poet of the heart"....

If there were ever any doubt, this poem would settle it. There's love in every line, and as welcome, I'm sure, as that Sedona rain.

Keep doing this, dear lady....you make this place bloom!

....SAVED faster than you can say "Sedona"!

The following passages are poetically ~ and romantically! ~ amazing!

"You rush to my side like rain in Sedona"

~ a slaked thirst to be sure!!!

"You put your ear to the rushing of my   heart
As the sky falls within me"

~ It gives Chicken Little's words "The sky is falling", a whole different meaning! lol

Marti, you are like a fine Bordeaux that gets better with age!

Hugs with love,
Linda

'You put your ear to the rushing of my heart
As the sky falls within me
Though I know that time leaks faster
Still you bend to my relief'

Share with a 'sis' ? ... would ya' now ?
