"tenderness
is the rope you bind yourself with here,
and these knots are not mine,
but yours to tie...or untie,
as you will..."~he said.

....................................................
So Bound

yes, the long, cadmium
shadows go out
from the Southern bales,
in a bed, borrowed,
but smooth with moonlight,

the Autumn bride,
now of one body with the blackened earth
rises on blue wings, loose
out of this agony,
all of my grace

lies leashed and brooding
in the milky noose of your silence,
as it bathes a sealed throat, liquor
among the quicksilver drawl
and frailer now,

among the heather, sulking,
the moon like a dead heart, stills
and no more than my ashes
swell its brimming load,
hands

as heavy as memory,
fold over my spine,
its dark palms
run sore paths
o’er our earth,

receding, the long cadmium
shadows cast the scent of mink,
sinks its pink, immutable
among the Southern bales
and mullein husks,

we lie
in the silence of lovers,
under a hummingbird’s mantle of light,
and forget, how the moon
comes,

to whiten our open bodies
in a blue fugue,
the soul’s bliss
to its own suffering,
so bound.

Very refined poetry and such powerful imagery.

Mercy girl, but you do take the mind for a dance with your imagery.  Lovely.

"we lie

~ now those are the kinds of 'ties that bind' that I like!

You spill softly evocative ink from your eloquent pen.
