Another year has come and gone.
Nothing is what it was and
everything is eerily the same.

Lacey looked out her kitchen window
at the plot where she had found herself.
Not knowing at the time how important
the sprouting of seeds could be.
How important it would become to take care
of those things she had so lovingly planted.
She had made mistakes that first year
learning from each and every one.
She had gotten better and
more sure of herself.

Today the plot was nothing but dirt.
The house had become empty walls.

She was finally ready to move on.
To leave behind the ugly memories,
holding onto the ones that still warmed her heart.
The ones that taught her nothing is impossible
as long as you don’t mind getting a little dirty
in order to unearth the trueness of yourself.

She looked around at those walls that had held her,
contained her for so long.
The walls that had breathed with her
weeping every time life had let her down.
She is satisfied they no longer sustain her.

As she steps into the morning
she speaks with eyes
her love for what those walls gave
when she had needed it most.

As she grabbed her beloved camera,
She knew, without a doubt,
She was ready.

I really enjoyed this, this morning.
Makes me feel like I'm not so alone.

Yes...she is ready!
Love it Susan...
I do hope there will be more.

Something tugs at me, I've no doubt of that.
Something from the sea, whichever one I'm near.
When I stray too far from beachland, it calls me back

Yes, and four walls can be a thing of beauty or a jail. It is always up to the person  within.  martyjo

"She was finally ready to move on.

I'll say "Amen" to that! "Lacey" is sprouting just like the seeds that she planted!

A fine write, Susan!

What???  Ya killed 'em already???

"As she grabbed her beloved camera,

I truly hope this isn't the end of the series.  So, what does Lacy photograph?
