No trick or treat but spiritual sleep
calm after emotional storms
descended from heaven like manna
and God saw it was good
to feed the poor, lonely, weak,
an overall feeling of peace.

The trick is to know and hold it so
while life twists the truth into lies
and the treat, I believe, a relaxed belief
in the strength of pure energy
to reach and lift the truth of soul
out from the shadows to light.

Ah, but not me because I cry
and release anguish into the sky
and when the rain falls it’s only recall
of the very same feel inside.

Last night a woman becalmed
smiled and snuggled in deep
and God saw it was good
but she, she, that woman I see,
begs now to be released
from the more, more,
of spiritual chores
ignored like dust on the floor.

But so it was and will always be
whenever the feel inside
doesn’t dissipate into the sky
and God saw it was good
but why, oh, why can’t I?

Me thinks you have answered your own question.

Very well written Helen...enjoyed the thoughts therein.

Something tugs at me, I've no doubt of that.
Something from the sea, whichever one I'm near.
When I stray too far from beachland, it calls me back

Helen, I  always read the words you post and see a bright clear thinking person behind your pen, or keys as it may be. This post is understood. We are all reaching far to try to make sense of this  test of our faith.. martyjo

Thank you all so much for reading and for your kind comments.  I'm tired, I guess, but life still tests and death doesn't rest the soul.
