Life is Like

Life is like peeling an onion
Each peel you pry the more you cry
All of us would be Paul Bunyon
That is of course, you really try

Onions are good for you, you know
Sliced or chopped in daily food
They make you tough the rough of go
And even make you slightly shrewd

I’ve peeled my onions chewed them well
Kept some in my memories store
Cooked and fried, some taste like hell
They helped me search within the core

Onions and pearls both need peeling
They’re as essential as a wife
One gives pleasure and good feeling
The other toughens you for life

So wear your pearls and peel your onion
Or you may end up just a Bunion

Mr. T., I doubt that I will ever be able to look at an onion again without thinking of you!

If the intriguing layers of you were peeled away, one would discover a pearl beyond compare!

Have a fabulous day, Pauly!

huh?  Now you've got me thinking...never thought about my pearls needing peeling...so, what your saying is, they're growing skin, OMG...I'd better go check them...why, they'll turn yellow, grow tarter, maybe even mold?  Or, maybe peach fuzz pearls, a new fad?

Sir, I do like your carefree attitude, your ability to understand through allowance and perseverence, both in just the right balance.

Cheers...(raising my cup of coffee to click yours) salute` my dear teacher/friend/poet

Oh My Gosh Sy!
You have me crying in my corn flakes!
Loved this morning's write!
Hugs, Smiles, onions and bunions, Nancy

Something tugs at me, I've no doubt of that.
Something from the sea, whichever one I'm near.
When I stray too far from beachland, it calls me back

I’ve peeled my onions chewed them well
Kept some in my memories store
Cooked and fried and some taste like hell
They help me judge this world of awe

Onions and pearls both need peeling
They’re both essential to our life
One gives pleasure and good feeling
The other toughens you for strife
