I spent much of the day online
with members of the new diaspora,
which meant I spent
part of the day in tears,
part of the day filled with sheer angst,
and part of the day cheering
all the survivors who are out there
seeking those who are still trapped
not knowing what they might find
behind the next closed door

but opening it anyway

and there are more than you might think
who stayed home
caught by their own sink or swim attitude

and if this post starts to ramble
just know this...
but for the grace of ~
well, I am not sure how to finish that sentence anymore
but tomorrow I'm packing up
three boxes of toys and books and clothes
and sending them off to three different addresses
with a hope and a prayer that someone there
at the receiving end will forgive me
for being so damned late.

oh Kacy, please don't be so hard on yourself

we were all in shock, kind of frozen there for awhile...

I'm OK, Dixie, just terribly frustrated, the same as everyone else who watches this tragedy unfold.

Kacy~
'solar plexus' direct hit~

If you drop me a note ... I have one of our own who now has a temporary mailing address where you and others can (if they wish) send some articles of assistance~

As she wrote me .... "keep it basic ... for we have nothing but our lives at this point."

When I get home this evening, I can respond with the mailing address~

Your heart is big, Kacy ... so many choose to just rant and not really do much else in the way of assistance ...~

I'm so truly thankful for those who do by taking action .... making it happen~

I'll be in touch with you and also with some others who have asked~

Once it happens it's always too late.
