All The Cartrights Have Passed Away

If you passed them on the street
they always had nice things to say.
And didn't they seem to be having
so much fun, riding their horses
on the Ponderosa through the snow,
the rain and the blazing sun.
They weren't really cowboys,
were they, although their acting
seemed pretty convincing to me.
After the filming wrapped up,
they probably went driving off
into the sunset in their Porsche's
and Mercedes to Beverly Hills
or Malibu by the Sea.

Oh, the rigors of riding through all kinds of weather and then pausing on there horses
in the heat of hot studio lights, then stumbling tired and weary into the ranch house on stage 2.
Your poem made me laugh a bit.
So true, so true.
But we watched like hawks, didn't we/
TAke care

James,
Nice reflective write.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Hugs, Nancy

Something tugs at me, I've no doubt of that.
Something from the sea, whichever one I'm near.
When I stray too far from beachland, it calls me back
