Placing the Blame

My tears are forever pouring
My heart a broken faucet
These last several days
Has this man finally picking up his pen
To understand, what this is all about…

I hear the cries of children in my sleep
And awake staring at blank walls---
Walls, that whisper to one another,
Asking questions with no answers;
“Did Bush forget to set his alarm clock”?
“When did oil, become a fair tradeoff for lives”?
“Is that a fly on the wall”?
“Isn’t that what Bush said about those people”?
“Quiet or someone will hear you………”

If God could take the clouds
And wipe away my tears
My pain and sorrow would still remain.
I want to drop and leave all that I have
Walking naked, hungry and thirsty,
To that submerged city,
Where I can wade in the waters with my people,
And as a whole, we will drain the city dry
Drinking from natures knowledge,
Gaining a closeness with our Maker
No longer ashamed of our nakedness…
Maybe, that is what this is all about,
A wake up call for those who hear the alarm;
It does not matter if you are poor,
Rich
A Politician
Or living in another country,
We all need to close our eyes and kneel,
Praying for those who have lost their lives
And for the future and new beginnings
Of those that have survived.

God Bless Us All

Marcel

Interesting..with a title like that I expected to see the mayor of New Orleans, who ignored completely the evacuation plan for the city, or the Governor, who  must have forgotten that the National Guard is under her command, mentioned somewhere but I suppose it's more fashionable to just throw Bush's name in there with "lives for oil" references, whatever that means. With the exception of those omissions...good writing.
