Misty morning
New Orleans.

Sidewalk, ramble worn smooth,
cracked through bloodshot eyes, stoned puddles,
streetlights sketch black and white
rainbows through the fog.

Steps into blocks, turn
till I am finally home,
too chilled for October.

What is this?
A fire already
seduces from hearth,
‘Come rest, come warm’.
How can that be,
has someone visited?
No, see…
only figments
warm echo of imagination
still hang from the night.

Was it just then,
I held her?

Misty mornings
still postcards,
signed with love.

You write with your heart.

has someone visited?
No, see…
only figments
warm echo of imagination
still hang from the night

"Misty mornings

~ A aptly succinct closing to a very fine write.

Yes, I remember those postcards of New Orleans…the mist, in the dawn…so beautiful, so serene, so majestic. It truly is my favourite city in the US and I mourn for what it’s going through now. I pray that it’s beauty will remain after this is over, but most of all I pray for those who have lost so much there.
Hopefully Dunc, that postcard won’t be your last look at New Orleans as she was.
And thank God Serenity and all are safe and well.

I guess I missed this the first time around.

Yes...Those damned figments!

Sometimes they clutter everything up, eh?

Nice, m'friend! Very nice
