suffice to say

is it the disappearance of nearing footsteps?
scattered amongst damp stones of mind?
they’re tucked away, living in quick syllables
yanno?
smiles, waltzing like shadowy figures, leaving
those penetrating eyes, under my pillow of,
the outside world
timid smiles, learn eye contact, with a cool wind
and you swallow what love dances in…
what love dances in…

a little light fills a small room
like a revelation…
warding off dark handshakes
throwing yourself down on your knees
scrambling to pick up any pieces
of what used to be’s
knowing, he couldn’t give what he never knew

focusing, like a boat on a sea of guilt
are the magic places in your lover’s eyes
proving worth under any weight of your
mind's eye, pouring vodka on
“just a little while longer”...
wondering about those cobwebs of
opposite directions?
strangling in tradition's belief
becoming an immigrant in my own connection

in a circle of ink I've lived
hot eyed dreams, sink beneath the skin
drawing school right into the spotlight
learning how to sew a coat
i might be lifted up by northern thoughts
while rain slices the sidewalk

tracing already swollen tarot cards
i can’t help but wonder
when souls are harvested?
taking every personality i might have been
back to it's place of origin...
gaining a clear channel to assist
when out of body thoughts
burst into voices that say
"yes"
convincing me, like a dream
that people in love, walk up & down
surface impressions
until they become abandoned children
and the next energy transfers

course, this time...
i’ll keep on walking...
dreaming of no one
and...
miss nothing

Lee, a wonderfully creative write. There were so many brilliant turns of phrase! Each line a treasure in itself.

And the surprise twist at the end, literally made me gasp! ~ for you, my dear, can never stop walking and dreaming!

You are a mighty fine poetess with a mind as sharp as your pen!

Hugs with love,
Linda
