Where does belief begin?
Does it flash
in the frantic rush of a youthful smile?
Can it surge into existence
in the hard wet clutching
thrusts of passion?
Can it be stolen,
retrieved by a sneak thief
slithering away
in between dreams of false security?
What I share
I share in honesty,
but not all awareness travels freely
to be gifted without prize,
like freedom’s pearls
a promise between lovers,
broken,
is a debt
unyielding
that must be paid;
the timing of the lives,
the convenience or the consequence,
is the lesser question.

First let me say what I said when I saw you here (finally) "YAY IT'S YOU!"

and now I'll say the first thought I had after reading,

"Some would say the pre-frontal lobe..."

That wouldn't explain where it ends tho, and endings seem to be all I have left.

*hugs again*

I am always so happy to read you.

hey icey,

belief has been stolen so many times, I have found myself questioning trust.
The only thing I can really trust, oddly enough, is not my instinct, but my heart.

They quarrel so much . . .

For me, there is no question.  But even so, one cannot make it right by him/herself --- it takes both to come to that clarity at the same time....the convenience.  The consequence of not acknowledging and repaying....that I do not know, but I fear it would mean a definite repeat, until we get it right.  Or, Charly, ....... could we repay by truely "loving" outside of ourselves...becoming a rose?  Much to ponder. *hugs*....jo

icebox - good to see you here again.  A searcher always needs a quest like another's thought to think about ... and I'm thinking.  Thank you!

wanted to quote the entire writing..

and that isn't much of a surprise..

I know I have told you so many times before how much I love your deeply moving, thought provoking writings...but I always feel the need to repeat myself...you are a pureness to read...

love you Icy!

Icebox...It's good to see you posting!

Belief is born from bone
and is as diaphanous as breath,
yet as sure that it can build a castle
stone by stone of river rock
as it can whistle
from a puckered five year old.)

I'm either really emotional or...oh, forget it. I loved it.
