I’m not afraid to love you
it’s my skin that gets so weak
but within your blush of heart
is the strength that I did seek
you are my true companion
and the one not looked for
you hold my life so tenderly
the very one that I adore
underneath all the smoke
a fire within me grows
poetry that was once a life
now lives in a world of prose
you are the tender hand of hold
as I have become your glove
somehow you cast away my fears
and I’m not afraid to love
