Volunteered Efforts

dragging the voices of sheltered,
it wears well chosen textures
round sharp black grains
razor-edged blades of
snake oil, anointing purse strings

squalls gathering
taking, closer looks
carefully driven by hunger
pacing back and forth
like dogs snarling over road kill

barred teeth, dangling hearts
eating lives with a blood stained spoon
while a sinister clock ticks
shocking air, into traumatized demise
walking deplorably intact
listening for the ka-ching
of ½ off sales

tapping into deep welled corkscrews
underscoring a mother’s frozen gaze
intone, with prayers of designer suits
half whacked conversations fat and old
leaving friend’s, post it notes
in the name of 22 year olds

collecting white stoned wails of numbers
in an unmarked critical list
tavern hobgoblins, of hostile grenades
pulling the pin on day to day super highways
with zero cards of blocked pores
mutations of the hearing-impaired
cut yellow ribbons for the man world

while media assigns readings for
those cutting class
microcosmics pulling rugs out
from under
deep abiding youth
of those families, beneath a culture
of hands folded on
desks…signing a thousand
anthologies, of those who never
made it...
propping up relief from
the knee pain,
of headless crimes...
the ones that maintain
killing woman and children
legal

picking dismembered flowers of humans
like a prepared death squad, making
the world safer, for indecent orders of power
but i hold onto clarification of
well chosen words from white horses
and fear for

humbled farmers, used as shields
fighting with what little they own
all in the name of petro...
while
rusty gun metal, hangs onto my window
mumbling with stinking hairy arms
about satan...
taking dead americans
as weighing machines
all in the name of peace & occupied
territory...

+++++++++++

Note:
I don't mean insult to anyone's beliefs, but my heart bleeds for the mothers & their families...and I just ponder
Why?

How can you insult anyone, m'friend...

This reads like the captions
of several large, viable newspapers...

not gossip rags or teen mags
but the real world that we need to see
every day...

even if poetically.

You are a world watcher,
but you hone it down,
done finely to
those who walk alone...

I think you should stand, and
curtsey...

Oh the tone of this portrays exactly how I feel, and neither do I mean disrespect, but concern that we choose the right reasons.  I am extremely grateful and proud of our volunteers, and pray they be protected by His shield.

Again, superb imagery to make your point.  This one will linger with me for days.

The why is so brittle with age it crumbles
with the touch of your hand. Good morning sweet.

"barred teeth, dangling hearts

I will use a Jon Stewart quote that I admired greatly...

"Note to Santa.....Please bring me a new culture for Christmas"

"picking dismembered flowers of humans
like a prepared death squad, making
the world safer, for indecent orders of power
but i hold onto clarification of
well chosen words from white horses..."

"making the world safer", indeed, for who?

Dang, woman...you make me cringe with your words.....The truth sometimes does that to me...Please keep telling it...
