She lies across his sofa
Naked, but a sheet
Embarrassed, flustered,
A little flushed from heat.

       “Color me with water
        The fish in the lake,
        Soft sheens of silver,
        Grades of muted greens.

Color with a hint of gold,
       With Blue and lilac make
       Thyself sensually aquatic
       Gliding into dreams”

With a cocked brow and “Hm…”
Shall I draw to scale Realistically
         ...The human  mermaid?
No, for only in reincarnation would
     Like Her you ever seem.
For you are much more amiable
          than an   underwater queen!
I like you j-u-s-t  the way  you are.
     Holddd the seductive smile, please…”

He expands the drapes to sunset
So the colors he can rake
The blush of an innocence
Brush on womans cheeks

The sheen of sun falls upon them
Orange, magenta… subtleties wide awake
Swell in them the colored sky
The union of artist/model speaks.

Marvellous! Reading this, I can see every expression, every move....and feel the subtle tension in the room. This is excellent work!

Think I'll ditto Sunshine and keep this one around for a while.....

See what happens when one can't sleep!  Thank you all!  Lee, an encore?  Let me take a raincheck on this--my creative juices just aren't flowing very consistently!  Hadn't written anything good for a long time-I was due this one by sheer probability!

miscie,
Cool, it's hard to beat romantic. Nicely done. And we can wait for the encore, as you know we will.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

This feels so natural, yet provacative...as if I was spying on someones very private time.  Brava!!

Startime,
Glad you thought this sensually beautiful.  Quite a compliment for me as I'm about as sensual of a thinker as a rock.  This was written by the artist/model, not myself.
   Glad you enjoyed the poem.

Martie,

"This feels so natural, yet provacative...as if I was spying on someones very private time.  Brava!!"   Hadn't thought of it that way.  Maybe the artist should adjust the drapes! Bad pun, I know... So glad you found it interesting.

Larry,
Being one hundred percent an honorable gentleman, I rest assured you wouldn't be spying on the lovely lady.  Right?  Of course, you're not a detective or under cover agent or anything like that.
Seriously, I'm glad this amused you.  I've enjoyed reading Martie's and your bantering responses, as well.

              miscie

iliana,
Glad you liked it.  As you've recently taken up the hobby of art, I thought you might like it.  (Keep up with art, Jo!  Your portrait of the baby has so much character!  It expresses joy very well, and I'm not just saying that 'cause I'm your sister.)

       love,

Well -- they say lightning never strikes twice in the same place....but it isn't true. Virtually every stroke of lightning is made of many strikes in quick succession, in exactly the same place.

SO -- the real probability is, you've got more of this lightning waiting, and it'll be coming very soon....I can feel my hair starting to stand on end exactly now......

Something tugs at me, I've no doubt of that.
Something from the sea, whichever one I'm near.
When I stray too far from beachland, it calls me back

Margherita,
It is so good to hear from you again!  I've been wondering where you went.  Haven't seen your poetry lately, but then again, I haven't been online much.  Thanks for dropping by.  I'll be watching for your poetry.

RAtleader,
See.  Ya get me thinkin' every time you let those words roll.   Even in your response.  Is that how lighning really works.  Amazing!  Thanks for striking twice, Ed.

Enchantress,
I had been thinking about you, too, my dear Enchantress.  As I said, I haven't been on line a whole lot, but when I am, I look for your poetry.  It seems that you haven't been posting when I've been on line.  I miss reading your poetry.
I appreciate you taking the time to read and comment.  I hope you are doing well.
