Transplanted but it doesn’t grow
instead it slowly fades away
and love’s like that I’ll have you know
when the soil of barren feel
is all it’s feeding on.

I watch from in this slow demise
of one once risen up
from the seed of womanhood
into full grown planted love
and will the feel of what took root
to spread beyond the boundaries.

No mind, nor I, can fly disguised
from back then into now
or can it, could it, would it,
if released emotively
to feed upon the good and true
from land-locked loneliness?

Nothing grows in loneliness
and nothing ever will
when the rough and tumble muck
of heart sore weariness
lies compacted round the core …
and I watch the bend and fall
of the stem, leaves, petals, all,
from within, deep within,
the inarguable truth.

Night again!  A woman’s hand
gloved and shunned withdraws
to stand within the shadow lands
the tiller of love’s soil
and a silent force uplifting
the plain and simple truth
from the killing fields
of destructive denial!

Yes, it is "night" here, too, Helen.  How well I understand your feelings in this one now.  *bunch of hugs*.......jo

PS....I'm buying that book when I get my "allowance."  Read the excerpt.....exquisite writing, Helen!

Thank you, jo, for the understanding.  And the book - - well, quality of printing aside, I hope you enjoy it.
