I sail beyond the sunset
Drifting on the thoughts of your words,
A sweet breeze of you parting kiss
A whisper in the wet
Of the unspoken yet well heard
Leaving with mental bliss.

The stars need not guide me
Since home pulled me gently back
Yet I left a trail of thoughts behind
To where I stayed so happy
Before drifting across this trail of black
Yellow bricked in my mind.

Then in the new sunrise
Much to my surprise
The winds of change did rearrange,
Why I don’t know
Gale winds did blow
Stiff bitter cold had taken hold.

How could you now dismiss
Those things ending with a kiss,
Gale force winds carrying them away,
I thought we were building a tomorrow
And now to my great sorrow,
To you just another day.

When will I find a true gentle breeze
Where the I that I am does please
And though a kiss is just a kiss
The departing doesn’t dismiss
The emotions before sunset
Things that you forget.

Gloom

This is for Simon, a friend,
who was roughly treated when attempting to find love.
I can’t take the Ice Pick from the eye,
But there are women out there that respect a man like you,
I just hope you find one.

But that you write
for a friend
speaks much
even if you're not one
"much" on hugs.
