[Cigarettes]

A spark of flame
Is all to blame
As you draw your life away
With Wednesday’s pay and your face
Lost in a cloud of smoke
You accidentally choke
Before you exhale,
Fingers yellow and pale
From harmful fumes
Born from plants that dare not bloom and
Your eyes begin to water
And the flame still burns like a mortar
Regardless of the advice to quit
You build up some saliva and manage to spit
That tobacco taste out on the ground,
Cancer is just around
The corner and yet you still
Manage to fill
Your body with that stuff.
With each and every puff.

You think you’re cool,

Girls reckon you’re a tool.

Perhaps it is time to put it out.

well...from family experience..that is good advice...

watching someone die of lung cancer is a tragic experience for all

the image alone should be enough

From my own personal experience with my lung problems,
which are getting worse every day....I would agree.
And, what is so bad about it, is that even though
I have to use oxygen now, I STILL crave cigarettes
sometimes. I haven't smoked since 1976, but my doctors say
once the damage is done to a person's lungs, they don't
repair themselves like a person's heart can.

Doctors say I have asbestosis, but I still believe
most of my lung damage was caused from the almost 3 packs
a day that I smoked before I quit. As I said up there,
one of the sad things of this addiction to cigarettes
is that if I wasn't afraid they would affect my breathing
even more, I would most likely smoke a cigarette today!
It's so sad, isn't it?
