Spirals into starry night, glistening suns the day is night.
Pastels and paper gone to bed,
Crayons and scissor, stars on thread
Creation born the evening right.

               ~~~
       Self Portraits and Starry Nights
  (written the day after the first section)
Spiral lights the morning mind
    seeing the swirls in coffee hues.
Just one cup... No, instead,
how ‘bout makin’ two
So to absorb the current of wafting steam,
Feel rhythm of his coiling blues?
Discriminating between ripples of reflection
Making them whole with mental glue.
Chuckle, chuckle... This art thing is fun.  It sure makes me think! The first portion was in reaction to some experiments we did.
The second verse was written in quandary. Can you imagine the situations VanGogh may have been in that caused him to see things differently?  I think about his stirring self-portrait.  I can imagine his inquiry when staring into his coffee or stirring a pot of soup.  What a mind!  What vision!
'Pastels and paper gone to bed'
I find it sooooo difficult to put away the tools of my art ... been known to stay up the entire night just to finish a project ... this thought sticks to me~
Marge, nakdthoughts, Seymour,
   Glad you enjoyed.  Thanks for your valued comments.  And Marge... I know what you mean about putting those supplies and the clock away.
the miraculous part about this write, is that you've taken time out to imagine what VanGogh might have been thinking...
Missy, this was supurb!
Also loved the footnote you served Ilana...yes, indeed, what a mind!
Lee,
   Geesh, what can I say?  I daydream a lot...  Thank you for your enthusiasm and
encouragement.  I haven't been writing much lately, thinking I had nothing to say.  I don't know if there is a correlation or not, but when I engage in artistic endeavors, my verbal side goes blank.  I just can't pull up words.   Guess that's more reason to write, huh?
