" Mercy!

Is the plaintive cry
From a throat
Raw with pleading
For a life
Not worth living

" Mercy!

Is tattooed in tears
From eyes that stare
Into the void
Of despair
As hands raise
Again in feeble
Supplication

Rasping echoes
Return in answer
It’s resting hour
For the higher power

Oh this hurts to read -- hurts good, but hurts! I hope there comes a time, when you don't have to be the master of such expression....in verse or any other way.

this made me think of all people of the world who are diseased and starving to death...a picture which holds stubbornly in the mind...

Southern, I'm lifting a glass to you, to click and say...this had the power to tear me away from my perfect world.

I know the agony, I don't think I know the despair. Peace. You say it well and thus I hurt.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Trees plead for mercy,
but the wind will not listen;
should they beg relief,
or ask for the strength to stand
until no prayer is needed?

Hard to know what to say in a prayer....or who to pray for, yourself or someone weaker. I have a feeling you know when, and where...and how.

agreeing with K, here about silence, sometimes we have all the answers right inside ourselves, we just tend to IGNORE those voices, BUT I know how you feel for many a night/day/second, I have felt so very trapped within myself.

Dear Suthern, this is so painful....I don't know what to say.
I am a prisoner in my own mind, and the resting hour
is awful quiet and lonely.... so I just keep praying.

Hugs for you, dear heart~
you are a very special lady.
