went down to the river
washed my latest dreams
in the wake
of the passing boats

and I made my decision
hardened by the
sting of salt
in the back of my throat

so much time
has flowed under
the bridges that I burned
so much time
rode over
the changes as they turned
so much time
so much time
what have I learned?

been drivin in circles
listening to old songs
they're playin
on the radio

louder and louder
don't even know where I
belong
or where to go

so much time
has flowed under
the bridges that I burned
so much time
on this road
maybe it's what I earned

so much time
so much time
what have I learned?

so much time
has flowed under
the bridges that I burned
so much time
on this road
baby it's what I earned

so much time
so much time
what have I learned?

went down to the river
washed my latest dreams
in the wake
of the passing boats

And I am extremely pleased
to know both the words...

AND the sound!

'tis wonderful!

I love it, Rebel. Would love to hear
the music. Is the music bluesy, country, or rock?
Whatever you chose goes perfectly, I'll bet.
Hugs,
Ethel

LR

I'm inspired by the music and the words!!  Perhaps I'll post it with credit to you, of course.  Thanks!

Got me thinking now as to what exactly I've learnt in my long life.  Good luck with the song.

Sue, I love that sound!! I have a good
friend who plays the dobro. Well, he can play
anything he wants to, but I love to hear hime
play his dobro. His wife plays keyboard. They
use to play for us when we sang many moons ago.
Hugs,
Ethel

Thanks you.

(I was gonna write 'em out by hand, too, but then you go and make it easy for me.)

But then, you do that, don't you?

Reb, thanks for putting the lyrics up.  They fit so well with that wonderful guitar playing and the melody.  Words that are easy for our generation to identify with, too.   .....jo

Thanks all, very much...

Sue -- think more like a blend of Springsteen, Sting, Knopfler....played it on a Strat..

(But I wrote it on the flat top)

If anybody wants to hear it who hasn't had the opportunity just e-mail me and I'll send it to you -- I can't add attachments thru pipmail..

thanks again

I've learned that you're not completely without charm??? LOL

Sorry... couldn't resist... *S*

I haven't yet had a chance to hear the music... but your lyrics flow so smoothly... I love this and can't wait to put it all together. *S*
