The light played on the glistening
the night with one ear
listening
suede to touch the fingertip
I must feel this with my lips
the buds of tongue
are seraphim
trumpeting the taste of dew
and oh I know the taste of you
as a honeybee abuzz
dizzy dancing circle eight—
heavy in the dross of wing
shaking off your kiss

I am drunk with drink of petaling
and if I were not filled to sate
I could fly between
the space of the bars
in vertical damn
I wish that I were her
a broad arm bitch of pedigree
granted freedom of your face
tracing lingerings
of lines
English ivies twisting time
as if I curlicued the rhyme
of loving green
in tranquil grace
in the cast of light of lace in blush
between the leaves,
I say: I must feel this with my lips

Dark pines hold fast in snare
stretched across the presence
there:
the bells, the bells
announce the wind
clockwork -
tattooing the lind
still she stands full of leaves
full of fruits gathered chest
flower grown, flower blest
lover of the dew
drosophila brewed.
There I see her name on leaf
silent with the vines
offers us the seed of spring
and delivers us the lime.

Knowing smile,
heavy sigh...

Now the both of you know, I adore a write that leaves me searching, one which educates me in areas in which my mind has not yet wandered.
And after reading this, of course I went searching, (thank you for that) and I saw a faerie like girl, unaware of the thorn and bramble which awaited her, dancing, dancing, singing to the treetops.  Unashamed of her situation, happy to be alive, actually, just being herself.

How it should have been.

And the undertones of a societal religiosity.

Beautiful ladies, take a bow.
This is seen, to me, the true essence of woman.

I came back to share a joke (y'knew I would yeti )

The moral of the poem is a lesson from Lilith:

"Don't get mad--get EVE!"

How about "I don't give a-dam"?

If I had to select two people who I would be sure could combine to create a stellar piece of writing....yep, it would be you two.

Hats off to the creation

Yell well m'Yeti, if there hadn't been an Adam he wouldn't have pointed the finger at Eve, saying, "she made me do it!" I went through my research about Adam and Eve with Karen, and she knows my theory dontca Karen?       Here I will refer you to paragraph 4 in Adam and Eve, showing the very first chauvinist, phaaat!   No wonder we like to shop!  You guys blame, we go shop!

Ladies, this did NOT surprise me, it delights though. (First part was Karen yes?)

Wow!

Not often that a poem has me sitting there reading it straight through three or four times (that's a guess, I honestly couldn't say how many), and still having to remind myself to breathe. There are duets, and there are duets....and there is this beyond-duet.

I recently emptied out my library, wanting to start fresh.....fill 'er up!
