The Last Dance

The lights were low the music slow
Their garments clung from head to toe
They wove their bodies in a twist
From head to chest from hips to wrist

The music played their bodies swayed
The fantasy of sex inlaid
With eyes half closed and nose to nose
Their arms slid down where skin exposed

Round and round in rhythms heat
Their bodies never missed a beat
Hypnotic in its thrust of play
Firing up the matters grey

And when the music stopped the dance
Their bodies stood in frozen trance
Holding to the essence field
That wrapped them in a feel of yield

I danced like this once in a wile
A wile that always brings a smile

Mr. T.,
you cut a fine form
both on the dance floor
and on the written page...

I often write of dancing, and enjoyed this.

An entrancing dance from our perpetually passionate poet...

Isabel is a lucky woman.

Maybe one day, I too, can go to the ball.

Seymour,
What a beautiful dance you dance once in a wile...
And? No wonder the wile always brings a smile!!

I think I like this one as well as any of yours
I've ever read, but I am a hopeless romantic.

Loved this one Sy. Put me in mind of a couple I once saw dancing at a little outdoor place in Flagler beach. Ocean  breeze, nice clear evening, good music.
Strangers to me but there was something about the way they danced. You could feel they had a great feeling for it. Whether lovers, married or just good chemistry, I did not know, but they were a joy to watch. It would be a joy to see you and your love twirl once again around the dance floor. best to you martyjo

Well for goodness sake, you sure fired up my grey matter, no matter, it's hot out, and I could use a cold shower.   Oh I remember this too, and will again in a wile.
